Our Story

Protocol — a collection of

experiences over time

Where It Began

From a very young age, I watched my father make tailored suits by hand in his workshop. The endless hours of hand stitching canvases into jackets. Little was I to know, that I would be taking a similar path later in life.

Forward to 1988, I find myself as a retailer of ladies’ clothing through various shops and outlets in Essex, Hertfordshire and London. Clothing sourced from my cousin’s wholesalers. By the mid 90s, I progressed into buying suits direct from factories and developed my business into visiting companies and renting space in a meeting room/ reception area to sell ladies’ suits (similar to booksales) – Tag City.

In 1995, I was still in this line of retail and on one particular occasion, I was approached to provide my suits from stock for the reception team. I soon discovered, that not all the team members fitted into the suits and had different requirements.

From here it was evident that to be able to fulfil the team’s requirements, the suits would have to be individually cut and tailored to suit everyone.

A VISION REALISED

The Birth of Ecouture Manufacturing

Within months of this discovery, I developed my own manufacturing base in Walthamstow, London E17, with help from the factory owners that I had a close rapport with.

Once the first corporate uniform was rolled out in 1998, it didn’t take long to be discovered by several reception service companies, law firms and banks. From here, I developed my knowledge of manufacturing men’s suits through my father and applied this to my existing knowledge of ladies’ clothing manufacture.
